Bringing it all together is the icon based Xross Media Bar, which provides simple navigation of the player’s menu system. Quick start-up mode allows operation in less than 6 seconds from when Sony Blu-ray Disc player is powered on. Dolby TrueHD delivers lossless studio master quality audio designed specifically for high definition entertainment like Blu-ray Disc. An incredible sound stage, dynamic range and a stellar Home Theater experience await you with Dolby TrueHD. With up to 7.1 channels of surround sound and audio that is indistinguishable from the original studio version, Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD promises you an extraordinary surround experience. DVD Upscaling via HDMI gets the most out of your existing DVD collection by upscaling standard definition video to near HD quality. Precision Cinema HD upscale uses high bandwidth digital-to-analog conversion and processing to detect image changes at the pixel level, rather than at the level of whole scan lines. Additionally, separate algorithms are used to process the moving and still parts of an image, resulting in sharp backgrounds with moving objects that are free from motion artifacts. Ethernet port provides connectivity to a home broadband connection so you can download network updates.

Great Product
Did a lot of research before buying this model and am Glad I did.Works really great with Blu-Ray movies and even my regular DVDs look awesome as well.Like the front control buttons instead of the top like my last player so it works really well in a tight spot when stacking over another unit in cabinet.Other units sell for a lot more and dont have the ethernet port or the usb ports.Would definately buy again and the Shipping was Really Fastttttt ... .... Stay Away From This Player!!!
The player worked for 15 minutes then nothing. Would not play any disk after that. Also, player was very hot to touch on the bottom. Tried everything to restore, nothing worked. I have read many problems with this player. I would not buy at any price. Buy the names you know are good at this time, Blu-ray is still coming together. .... Read more

A GEM
As a technophobe, I ordered this baby with a little trepidation. But my worries were in vain. The ease of set-up and operation was/is fantastic. Downloading the "firmware" update via USB port (modem to player) was easy too. And the improvement in picture quality! Wow! I watched "Then She Found Me" (my first Blu-ray disc purchase) and was astounded. The details! The vibrant colors! The wrinkles! And all this on a 37" screen. The difference is simply amazing.
