The Oppo BDP-83 sports a subtle design with a black external casing and brushed metal surface on the front. It is actually a universal disc player. Besides playing Blu-ray movies, this player can play DVD movies, DVD audio discs and also CDs. This is great news as I am sure that most of us have large collections of DVDs and CDs at home. The remote that comes with it is very easy to use. It even have back-lights so that you will have no problems using it in dark conditions.
On the back of the Oppo BDP-83, you will find almost any connectors that you can expect from a Blu-ray player. Among them are 7.1 analog outputs, 2 USB ports, HDMI port, IR control, and a couple more connectors.
